This tote is a celebration of the neighbourhood presented in the ‘Spaces That Remain’, a photography exhibition produced by MABNAI that showcased Jalal Abuthina’s recent works on the now-vanished neighbourhoods of Shabiyyat Al-Shorta and Al-Defa'a, built in the late 1970s.

Our latest publication provides a sociological analysis of their historical context and architectural insights into the neighbourhoods and documents the exhibitions in both the Mosque of Reflection (2022) and Bayt Almamzar (2023). City Walk Dubai has since replaced these neighbourhoods.
